NEW BeachMaster 2oz Darter
I had the pleasure to fish a new/proto 2oz Blind BM Darter this year and right off the bat I was impressed with the casting distance I was able to achive with them especially on this night were we were into some good fish but everything was on the end of the cast. After about three turns of the handle it was thumping in the current and right away I was hooked up.. A couple quick shots and the Bass was released..

Soon to be available in 16 different colors to satisfy every collector, no doubt.
I'm curious as to what is "new" about this darter compared with the original 2 oz blind BM plug they produced for years? I have a bunch of those but never fished them very much since they tended to run deep which limited their use in a lot of places where smaller darters shine, and also were a bit wild in current. I often wonder in retrospect if I gave up on them too soon.
Curious also as to what was wrong with the ones with eyes such that they felt the need to redesign the plug?

These were designed to not run as deep as the original 2oz run. This one also held its own in a pretty good rip..

I tend to agree with Chris also, Don's design along with the Pichney are probably the best darters ever to be made.
Steve, I think you should stop by and drop one off for me to test!

Build or Buy ? your talking about the available SS Zig Zags right ?
If so I think anyone will tell you they are the best and all run true but there are times where the fish are on one or the other.. Case in point I am fishing with a buddy and we are banging fish in the mid 45" Class on plugs and he switches up to a SS Darter and is getting hit but they are not committing to it.. I clip on the BM and BAM !! First Cast Fish On.. Sometime they want something a little different..
