LONG Weekend Plans & Happy 4th

Much of what we hold dear today is a direct consequence of something many great people did and sacrificed for in order to bring about a better home, a better world, and a better human race. By lottery of birth, you were born or made it here to this great land. Say a word of thanks to those that have come before us to make this little experiment in the human condition work.

On the morrow, Happy Independence Day! - I could quote John Adams but this will have to do

So what's up for the weekend?

My weekend started last night with perfect jitterbug/zara spook weather. Anchored up in one spot and had fish for 1.5 hrs fan casting in any direction. Probably do the same at some point this afternoon.

Sat is the Legendary Annual Bash on the Lake at my girlfriend's parents' house...clam cakes, chowder, anything you can grill, beers, polish horseshoes and floats, capped off by what will no doubt be an incredible "night skylight display"

Sunday cleaning up and hanging lake-side for the day. Probably take out the canoe after dark.

Happy Fourth to Everyone!

Annual Iemma 4th of July bash. About 70 folks coming and I don't care what the weather is, I'm not cancelling. Big Castle Bouncy House was just delivered along with the 15 X 15 tent. If it pours I've cleaned out the boathouse so everyone can sit in with all my plugs and rods.

No boat, back in the suds.

Ed it's a friggin' blast. Teams of 2. You have two ski poles about 20-30 yards apart from each other. On each pole you balance a bottle. Objective is to knock the bottle off the opposing teams pole using a frisbee. The team getting thrown at either has to catch the frisbee if within reasonable catching distance OR if the firsbee knocks off the bottle you need to catch both the bottle and frisbee. I forget how points go, but basically you always want to catch the frisbee and bottle if it goes flying, and you want to target the other teams bottle or throw the frisbee so it makes it difficult for them to catch.

It's a ton of fun, but it's pretty challenging too!

I have so many projects around the yard that I made a list last week. I bought 2 yards of mulch this morning and put a tarp over the bed of my truck to keep it dry 'til after the rain. Maybe, if it rains enough, I'll sneak in some time working on the rod I wanted to have built for myself by June 1. To give an idea of how that is going, I haven't even turned the grips yet.

Happy 4th every one. Hanging with the bride tomorrow and maybe fishing in the morning if the weather holds. Saturday we are going to an annual party and Sunday we are going to the Block wit 3 other couples....not to fish though.

got out last night finally and first spot ...2nd and 3rd cast produced couple rat blues... both on the teaser given to me at south shore beach gathering(thanks) until teaser was stolen . then my remaining green mack bottle got taken and rubbed off above the swivel after a 2 minute battle. then the abscess in my face blew up and i have constant excruciating shooing pains up to my eye socket. luckily my dentist gave me tylenol 3 with codeine so i can puke every 15 minutes while in pain still. got 12 more hours for antibiotics to kick in.

I LOVE it when MY WIFE lets me fish

Good thing I have the kayaks out cause we're going to need them. This rain is torrential and the real show hasn't even started.

Going to relax with friends and family today & hopefully cook some grub on the grill before the typhon hits and absolutely toss back some cold one's.
Saturday see a buddy and get his A/C back on line.
After that, pick away at some home projects that has been on the back burner for to long.

Live bait sharp hooks and timing is all you need
