Bow season
Good luck to all the bow hunters heading out this year. Shoot straight and be safe.

Already did...what a year!
My first elk with a bow, and what a bull he was!! 37 yards, complete pass through, went 95 yards and piled up. Wyoming, area 7 near Wheatland.

What an awesome experience that must have been. Beautiful bull, what did it weigh? Rack/points/spread? Congratulations!

There has to be some bow hunters in here. Who has been out? What have you seen? What have you shot?
I had a nice doe walk up behind me this afternoon, 8 yards away. Skipped away and returned 10 minutes later but never came out in front of me. Walked straight behind me and....gone!

More archery success
Bull was a 6 x 6, scored 320 plus, after field dress and removal of head/antlers, paid to process 475lbs of meat...then donated it locally as too expensive to fly it home. Brought home cape, shipped horns UPS (crated) and carried home 20lbs of backstrap and tenderloins. Kinda got real expensive after it hit the ground!!
What a great experience. Last three seasons epic for the bow, here are some more pics, these were 2013 and 14 from Alberta.

Thanks
Thanks Raven. Locally starting to heat up, saw a few does on Halloween morning, looked like they were being chased, then day before yesterday a young buck was walking around in the road near my house, looking very "love struck". Diary says things should start up by Friday and really peak a few days later. Good luck!

Had an 8 and a 12 running together yesterday, didn't seem to be in any compition with each other. Things are starting to move around, lots of does on the run.
