Haven't been there yet but the menu looks good. Glad to see we have a decent looking place to eat in town. Tiverton is hard though, you really don't have enough of an upscale demographic to make it through the winter months. Great location though...

My local favorite was the Hourglass in Bristol but Chef Rizwan shut down. I guess we'll have to try Persimmon, haven't been there in a few years.

I have a friend who is a server at Persimmon and says I have to go. He told me Eli's Kitchen in Warren is really worth the trip.
The Back Eddy is closed all winter sounds like a good plan to me.

Before the Hourglass opened Persimmon was certainly the best place in the east bay and better than most everything in newport. Really top notch. I'd assume it's still as good…

Heard of Eli's but never been.

The Back Eddy has changed a lot over the years.

Do you know if the Dory has any access for boaters?

The Eddy was sold years ago by Schlessinger, who still keeps his boat there, but Sal does a great job with the menu and really keeps the menu fresh. It's not fine dining, but is usually hopping and predictably tasty.

My wife and I had a great time eating at the bar at the Back Eddy last year. Food was good and very interesting mix of people.

I'd assume the Red Dory doesn't have any access for boaters as there isn't much close by other than a few small private docs. The Tiverton Yacht Club may be an option, it's not next door but not an unreasonable walk. We're members and it's pretty low key, not sure on the policy unless you have a reciprocating membership with another club.

Only local place I know of with a slip is the Boat House but it's not worth a trip.
