Hats off to Tom Brady
As a result of my "somewhat odd" employment circumstances there are many days where I start my morning commute listening to New York sports talk radio and end my commute listening to Boston sports talk radio. While there are so many observations I can make the one that always amazes me is never ending talk of Tom Brady's "demise".
Well, given that I bring you:
Brady set several new records with his MVP performance against Seattle.
Brady becomes the third starting quarterback to win four Super Bowls, joining Terry Bradshaw (Pittsburgh) and Joe Montana (San Francisco). (and nobody has won 5)
Brady tied Montana for the most Super Bowl MVP trophies with three.
Brady now has 13 Super Bowl touchdown passes, surpassing the old record set by Montana (12).
Brady became the sixth quarterback to throw at least four touchdown passes in a Super Bowl.
At 37 years old, Brady is the fourth-oldest quarterback to win a Super Bowl. (only the fourth oldest!)
Brady had 36 completions in Super Bowl XLIX, breaking Peyton Manning's record set the year before (34). (Peyton who? and he lost that game)
According to Elias Sports Bureau research, Brady has gone 13 seasons between his first and latest Super Bowl wins. That's tied for the most all-time with Ted Hendricks. (and longer than any other quarterback)
Tom has also started in more super bowls than any other quarter back (6, Elway started in 5, going 2 and 3).
Hats off to Tom Brady! and that is from a Giants fan.

That and the team looks to remain pretty solid in the near term. Lots of youth and not too many older guys.
Hard to compare players from the different NFL "eras" never mind the normal difficulties in ranking 1 to 5 in the top echelon of anything. That and football is very much a team sport, probably more than any other.

No more Brady is done talk this week.....all is he the best ever debates
who'd a thunk?
Great show on teewee I caught bits of showing the other QB's drafted in the same year and interviews with coaches who drafted them. I think it was Mariucci who lamented the most on missing out on a local boy and jokingly stated he would still be coaching (would be if he developed Brady the way the Pats did) and he just said "if we could have just ripped his chest open and seen his heart...."
Interesting comments from Bill on the decisions they made to keep him on the roster and why. Was not as straight forward as you would like to believe.
End result is Tom is the last man standing from a bunch of guys drafted ahead of him and he has the rings and the numbers to show for it.

Showtime has an hour episode on super bowl 49,and not one of the commentators uttered a single bad word about Tom,but just the opposite.
Not to mention the live mic recordings on the key players is pretty cool to hear, the words of inspiration and the drive they have is incredible.
