Truck starts fine when using key
Will not start with remote start...........press the remote start key and engine seems to turn over, but will not start. Everything else with system works fine.
Any ideas?

I had the same thing...not saying my problem is your problem....my system was 12 years old took truck to place that installs remote starters....they looked under dash and showed me that the fuse section melted so I just had them put new system in....I was probably lucky that under the dash did not catch fire.....

Thanks fly rod. Wondering about the last time I tried starting the truck there was eight inches of snow on the hood frozen, and I left the windshield wipers on intermiten, which I sure were trying to work against the frosen snow. I think maybe that caused an issue with that system just like if the door was open.

Sounds dumb, but double check the quality of your car battery. When my battery started to fail, the remote starter would randomly start on its own, stop on its own, gremlins galore.

Frank mine does the same thing, after some research I have concluded that on these super cold days it takes too long for the oil pressure to come up, and the remote starts are designed to shut down with no or low oil pressure.
Try warming up the truck, then shut it off and try the remote start it will probably start because the oil is warm and thin and will build pressure asap

If your battery is not dead after the record low temps, it probably is OK. Bill has a good point, also maybe a bad relay in the remote system ?? Just a thought.
