Computer Problems Need Help!!

Hey everyone I know this is not fishing related but I know some of you are a lot more computer savy then myself. When I click on Internet Explorer the Cox home page comes up and then I cannot do anything. An error comes up saying Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. I called Cox support and said my modem is fine and could not really help me. Any tips or suggestions to try would be appreciated. I sure hope my computer is not fried.

rwilhelm,

I am sure your puter is fine...

What you need to do is get Internet Exploder up so you can change your default start page. The only "problem" is that the Cox page seems to be your default so you will have to open Exploder by:

1) Click START
2) Click Run
3) Type the following: IEXPLORE www.yahoo.com
4) Click Ok

Then you should be able to click "Tools," on Exploder's menu, then Internet Options and set your default start page to something other than the Cox page.

Hope that helps!

Rob

Send a message via AIM to RockLobsta
Try going to start>settings>control panel>add/remove programs

from there find IE and double click on it. Choose "repair Internet Explorer from the list.

Really??? You are still getting the Cox page, and the error, even after you set your start/home page to MSN???

ERRRrrr... Internet Exploder... Still better than NutScrape though!

Maybe John has some thoughts on this???

right click on your internet explorer icon, click on properties
On the general tab where it says Temporary Internet Files, click on delete files. A pop up box should appear, check the 'Delete all offline content' and hit ok.

That will clear you cache. When it is finished, manually change your home page to http://www.striped-bass.com. Then reboot your machine.

Let us know what happens.

Btw, Hi guys. My first post

I am a dead fan but that is my fathers design. he drew it about 18 years ago and had it made into our shop logo. We use to owne Cape Cod Charlies B & T also in bourne but sold it to Gary and allow him to use the logo as part of the sale
