Let it go

But please take the time to make sure it is ready to go.
Found this at the waters edge belly up in the bubble weed, shiny eyes clear eyes dark red gill rakers.
I wanted to keep fishing but since the only other guy still there said it wasn't his I headed home early.

Been tough on the C&R fish recently - high water temps make a successful release difficult. Had one demise a week or so ago after swimming away. My son went swimming in the drink to retrieve it for the table. They need much more time to revive right now.

buddy of mine got a nice fish this weekend and I noticed it took him a lot longer to revive the fish than usual. I was like "what the hell is he doing" and he mentioned that was the issue.

On a positive note, if you only catch small fish like me, they seem to do quite well. I got a 27 inch fish that was previously gut hooked and the leader was hanging like 5 inches out of its mouth! fought hard too... I cut the leader as short as possible inside its mouth and he swam away while splashing the hell out of me..

Oh and maybe if that fish didn't smoke it would have survived!

Super warm temps not conducive to reviving fish. Good on you for making it not go to waste!
