Likely Sad Story In Gloucester

By Reenat Sinay Globe Correspondent November 08, 2016

The Coast Guard and Gloucester public safety officials are searching for a man who was fishing on the rocks at Rafes Chasm Park and was swept out to sea, authorities said.

He was fishing with another man on the rocks near Hammond Castle in Magnolia when a large wave pulled them into the water on Tuesday afternoon.
One of the fishermen made it safely back to shore, and reported the incident at about 3 p.m. to Gloucester police, according to a spokesman for the department.

The missing fisherman is believed to be in his early 30s and from the Boston area. He was wearing blue jeans and black and white sneaker, the Coast Guard said in a statement.

Lets hope he was found...

Never good to hear about theses things. Based on the description sounds like he was ill prepared and fishing an area he shouldn't have at that moment.

Another boat with 3 missing from sandwich. Guys out mackerel fishing. The ocean in November is very unforgiving.

how about the sportfishing boat that was hit by a off shore lobster boat 10 miles east of BI .. the captain of the SFB said he was blinded by the sun ............ That easy to believe in the bay because I personally know of three of those blinding accidents & Its really tough looking into the sun hour after daybreak especially if it s a cold morning ....lucky for them it was calm & all were picked up by the lobster boat ><><

I saw a report on him on the news this am where he said his kid distracted him and he did not see the lobster boat.

Lobsterboat operator said he nailed the throttle and moved the boat from getting a direct hit to a solid hit off the stern which holed the SF.
