Upside of the canal bite

A. Threads and discussion about striper fishing outnumber political talk on the board.
B. Local B&Ts were recipients of increase in money spent.
C. When the bite is gone, there will be a good secondary market supply for lightly used higher end gear.

I did not attend, as I am out for another week with a bad back. Recovering slowly but can't risk even a harbor cruise never mind rock hopping. I have less than twenty fish caught total for the season.... Just hoping to be feeling good enough to do some fall fishing, but need to be able to work first....

Get well soon. Maybe do some Edgartown sandy beach albie fishing in September?

The upside is it keeps everyone in one place and talking about one thing, I love it. The easiest way to clear out an area that is getting pressure is to just tell them the canal is hot and bamm it's a ghost town.

Haha. I know someone who works at one of the baitshops and he said 80% of the customers that came thru the door last week did not even speak English. The canal has been deserted past few days, normal, I have been walking the dog in the morning and not a soul around except a few regulars. All the rods and reels are back on the cellar ceiling collecting dust till the next eclipse blitz.

At one point I had this refugee bunk in on me 10 feet away.
I'm swearing at him to get the F away from me and go find his friends. He keeps smiling at me saying Hi !
Finally my look gave him a clue and he scurried away.
