We got the boston blue's!!!!!!
Hi all, went out yesterday with Bigfish and man did we have a ball. Got into a few nice schoolie bass in the morning on top water. Bigfish got a nice double header, but the fleet moved in on us and the fish went down, so we headed over to the airport and things were pretty slow. The wind kicked up pretty good by mid morning and the bite was still not picking up. So we headed over to the north shore, nothin doing. Went over to visit Van and his son on a favorite ledge out there. They were slammin the fish it was tooo dam funny to watch this great father /son team with doubles on and hootin and a hollerin. I picked up a 31 inch bass and we had a couple of really nice runs but got bit off.
Now the reason Bigfish and I were out there was we were on a mission for some nice hefty blues. Well after Van and his son headed home in the afternoon, we hung around for a while, got joined by another friend of ours and the bite got very quiet. So we pulled anchor and started to move around and reset up again when Bigfish spotted a few fish busting. So we went over to take a look and they were small blues bustin bait. Got a few nice hookups there, and within a 1/2 hour all hell broke loose and we found ourselves in the middle of a huge bluefish blitzand the best part was there were only 3 boats out there. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time, we litteraly had fish all around us.
We beat the crap outa them and they beat the crap out of us. We had more baitfish pucked in the boat than there was in the water. We moved around and checked out some other pods busting as we were trying to get into some with decent size to them. Bigfish dropped a nice 8-9 lber at the boat that bit him off, we had fish between 4 and 7 lb most of the evening as this went on for 3 solid hours. I finally hooked up into a big dog and after fighting it for about 10 freakin minutes on light tackle we got it to the boat.
Nice big chopper, got it in and weighed it on the digital, it weighed 13 lbs, at the weigh shop later it scaled 12 lbs and man was this thing huge, we finally got one that we were looking for. Bigfish didn't want to fish anymore as he wanted me to get the fish back in and get it weighted so we ended the day at 7:30pm after starting the day at 5 AM. you should have seen the cheetos grins we were wearing on the way in!!! Life was good!!!!!!
Had a ball Bigfish and we will definatly do it again.

Guess I shoulda stayed just a little longer !!!
We also had a blast, Jimmy weighed in his bass and it was nearly 19 lbs. he is a happy kid. But he's been talkin' smack to this old man about catching bigger fish. (Wonder where he got that from),.
BF is a great guy and loves fishing as much anyone I now.

It sounds like that was a great trip for everyone. I also just wanted to say congrats to Bill and Jules on a nice article in "the fisherman" this week on the MSBA striper swipers and all of time and tackle and effort on your parts. Keep up the great work
