Iran retaliating
Multiple sources saying that missiles from Iran are attacking multiple US-held stations in Iraq.
Could get really, really ugly. I really didn’t think they’d do it.

Just a little fairness GS. That’s all. Obviously there’s a huge downside to what we did. But there’s also a potential downside to doing nothing. There is no simple, obvious answer.

Al asad is a huge base was there for 6 months most troop housing are not harden
had 3 120mm rockets with no targeting system land within 100 yards from our Tent. Very sobering.
These missile are a different animal targeting ability and payload ..
There are no indirect fire defense on these bases that I am aware of
a 2nd wave of missiles could create a bigger issue for those on the ground trying to help or seek cover

i agree with you that now all of a sudden trump
is
listening to the deep state is laughable. that doesn’t mean killing this guy wasn’t the right thing to do.
When Iran was acting up
with their navy, when they attacked saudi oil/airfields, Trump showed restraint, but warned them
all bets were off if they killed
americans. then they killed
american.
I remember when obama
warned Assad about a red line if he used chemical
weapons, Assad wasn’t deterred and don’t fave any consequences.
Some bullies don’t respond to pleas.
I’m not saying Trump
made the right call, I don’t know enough. But it’s nit as simple as saying it had to
be stupid because Trump
did it.
How did he clobber Hilary in the electoral ( the only measure that matters), if he’s such a buffoon? he destroyed the most inevitable
candidate in decades. Reduced her to a laughingstock, peddling books at Costco.

it slide, but make it clear the next time
an american is killed by Iran, they can kiss their oil
good bye and try their hand at selling solar panels door to door.

Only because no one was killed, it could be a win for Trump if he gives Iran one chance to de escalate.
Interesting to me they picked
this particular base. There are bases closer to iran that have more americans. if they wanted to kill americans, why not attack those bases? any chance iran wanted to appear tough, but not go so far as to force Trump into retaliating? Or is there already a guarantee he’ll hit back? Politically, he’s better off if this ends now. I don’t know if he cares about that. And it only works if Iran backs off.
