Where did everyone go?Memorial Day weekend 2021

Hellooooo!!!! Is anyone still out there?

First, enjoy the Memorial Day holiday. Please go to whatever service your town may have. And take your kids, or make sure they are doing the same, and with their kids. Important day of reflection and thanks...

Second, this forum used to be packed with plans for early season or for some, the first fishing of the year! Where are you all? Oldtimers, check in. Say hello....

And third, Thank you JohnR for this site...

Lastly, GFY. Have a good weekend.

Hello and as for me being an OLD timer, my priorities have changed, fishing less and primarily for good eaters. The sea bass move into my usual spring spot has been very slow to materialize, skunked on keepers first time out a week ago and had to work hard for a limit yesterday, but 17” fish taste just as good as 20” fish. Wind, wind and more wind, seems to be our new normal. Weekend weather blows, so indoor honey do leftover list to address.

I don't saltwater fish anymore. I fly fish for trout. I've caught enough Bass, Blues, etc for my lifetime.

Ross, I check in periodically but the site just doesn't have the appeal it had for me when I chased the big girls. I know there are fish around but I just don't have the fire anymore to do any damage to the species. Even C&R has a mortality rate.

I catch trout on a fly rod but don't kill anything anymore. My new adventure will be C&R trophy browns with Casey Breed in KY this OCT. Planning on Snake River next year.

No boat, back in the suds.

Where am I at? I'm in Finland, and we already had our memorial day on April 27. They call it National Veterans Day.

I fish for big assed perch now. There are some huge ones in the lake behind our building.

Still lurking. Was going to go to Cape but #^&#^&#^&#^&ty weather I’ll probably just hang home. The fact I only work 3 days a week now I just go down on Monday. Hope everyone has a nice safe weekend.

Headed to cuttyhunk a week from tomorrow for 5 days of fun. Launched the boat this week for first run of the year. New wheels hubs leaf springs and the 49 year old aquasport all performed flawless. Slow pick of seabass but got 4 for the freezer blues and bass are around. Get out there!!

Probably not venturing out anywhere this weekend. Seeing family from Maine today and brother in law's 40th bday. Hopefully some kind of get-together happens tomorrow with my family from NW CT.

I have my boat booked for the MV ferry for 2 weeks in July. Picked up a clam rake and basket/float this morning.

I know someone who works in an art gallery in Jackson Hole. You should go in with a copy of her book and pretend you recognize her. That would be funny.

Hello to this S-B.com site from a very grumpy SauerKraut. I am still around; but I do not publish much. Parents once told me if I do not have anything good, or constructive to say-- keep mouth shut.

My avocation is still quality fishing; and it has been poor for me despite what some may consider herculean efforts. Therefore, I am very Grumpy. Three Lake O. trips for the Spring Browns-- a total wipe out bust. Nothing but lost sleep on my beaches and rocks so far this early so-called "Spring Run" striper season.

But I like my friends and contacts on this site.

Ain't like old times Ross... spent the morning tossing plugs to blitzing teen sized bass and 3lb class blues, not another angler invsight,I'd like to say it was fun, it was not. But it's what I've done for 50 odd years..and as long as the powers that be allow.. I'll keep doing it.. once your mobile. pm me, I'd love to take you out in my" dingy".. and show you the "mac" Roc style.

Thanks, Joe! Won't be long. Been a good couple of days with positive breakthroughs almost daily. Was mostly without a cane for much of the day today.
