A big thanks to Capt. Mike and the gang

Hey guys, it was the first time I met JohnR, Capt. Mike, Dave S., Gordon, and Bob today. We had a blast at catching blues. I caught the biggest one. How much do you think it weight, John? They fought like HELL on pogy chunks. And I won a $20 worth of pool. No basses, but another time. However, Capt. Mike really does bring you to somewhere you can catch a BIG fish...

I would recommend anyone to hire him to charter them.

Plus I learned a fewest things from the guys on setting the hooks and controling the fish. And I got a nice plug from Swede.

Thank you, JohnR and Capt. Mike. John, you missed your big chance at a big fifty. Another time, man.

Joe - glad you had fun and it was good to meet you & TRO, and see Bob & Sweede again...

Yes, only the Blues & doggies came to play yesterday, no basses in the boat... The law of averages requires that the bass get a break on occasion ... That one you got was decent sized - I'm guessing the biggest went about 10-11 pounds but you had some good fighters...

Overall, not a bad trip out. Plenty of Bluefish to keep everyone busy for a while. Mike B does a good job.
Notaro, maybe I can get you out on my boat sometime soon and we'll try it again.
JohnR, how'd youz guys do later on last night? I stopped home for a bit and ended up not going back out until 5:00 AM this morning. Hit several of the spots we talked about. Picked up 9 bass total up to 16 lbs. Nothing substantial but was fun anyways.

You know John, I thought about it. That year there was a ton of fish in and out of the harbor. I saw huge schools of fish off of Wollaston on my way home from work almost every day for a month.

I remember FW and BC reporting huge days out there... it was one of the reasons I bought my first boat... I wanted a way to get out to those fish.

I also remember alot of bait down there and I remember a report of bunker getting chased onto the beach down there at our spot.

I fished that spot alot in '01 and there was NO bait down there and I only picked up individual fish.

The past two seasons I haven't put much time in, but when I've been there, there's been no bait. And this year seems pretty slow all the way around in the boston area. And I haven't seen those masses of fish the way I did that year in other areas.

I'm sure fish will push through there and on a given night you might hit it good, but until I see other signs of a stronger run of bait and fish, I'll probably stick with the boat.
