So no fun, just work.

So what's up for the weekend?

Going to probably take my last tin boat trip and try the bays in Osterville and Pomponessett for some bass. Hoping bunker is still there.

Heading to the Cape for two weeks to catch up on house stuff, take a few casts, cousin's going to show me what saltwater fly fishing is all about.

Going for another jab in a few minutes at CVS. For shingles this time. Wife has it. Mild case but it sucks. So with 2 vaccines and a flu shot, I am getting sick of getting jabs. Oral delivery would be preferable for me.

Couple small side jobs and a bid this morning, then cleaned up and put trailer away after cleaning up from having two days of tree work done...

I will just say this; if/when you schedule getting the shingles shot, be prepared for a very sore and dead arm. Pharmacist did say it goes in a little harder and that I would be more sore. Could barely move when I took my brother's dog out early, (they are in NYC as SIL is running the Marathon) Ice pack and sit in the recliner is the plan for today.... But I am sure it has to be better than getting shingles, so...

I did have chicken pox, so the virus is already in my system, dormant. And the shots are to keep it dormant. Heading to sister's wedding next Saturday so have to cover all the bases. Including everyone attending getting a Covid test within 72 hours before the wedding.

My uncle got a bad case of shingles 4 years ago, still has it. Says it feels like a severe sunburn 24/7. I wouldn’t wish what he deals with on anybody. Poor bastard is now hooked on gabapentin to take the edge off. The drug is nasty on its own.
My second shingles shot is a few weeks away.

May fortune favor the foolish....

I got the covid booster and flu shots together and after a couple days felt fine so I went and got the shingles shot (my first time for that one) and it knocked the crap out of me for the next four days. Like Nightfighter said, dead arm and painful. And after two months ya gotta go back for the second round. But that's in the past. NJ to CC in near record time yesterday. Happy to find the house completely devoid of damage from the recent big winds, so a little more free time than anticipated.

yup .....might be the worst shot in terms of pain in my arm but having shingles was no fun either....both covid shots(moderna) were painful for quite a while with pronounced swelling...after my second the pharmacist came over to ask how I was feeling so i could leave...I told her I felt fine but my are was already killing me..I have a pretty high pain tolerance...the pain you experience from shingles is not only the burning and discomfort from the surface rash but and internal pain like nerve pain...it's pretty rough
