PSA Keep Heat Vents Clear

Heating and appliance vents that vent through sill, sidewalls, or roof need to be kept clear of drifting snow. Check every hour. (Keep an eye on neighbors' too) Also check your CO2 monitors....

65 mph in Plymouth, we have already lost shingles on the same roof line we lost a 20 x 20 foot section last storm, power has gone off and on about 6 times already this morning. Can still see the ground it's blowing so hard nothing is sticking so far. I suspect we will see hurricane forces winds soon. It's nice to live a driver and a 9 iron for the coast, until these storms happen.

I am mildly surprised at how fast the conditions have deteriorated. Volume of snow blowing around just increased exponentially. And it was coming down at a pretty good clip earlier! Road filling back in quickly. Neighbor's roof still blown clear of snow. Drifts starting to grow out back.

Be careful everyone. The average age of us posters here puts us into heart attack range

I'm in the western range of the storm so I'm not getting hit that bad and still planning on going to a hockey game at 330.

Two furnaces in basement vent to the roof three stores up and down drafts are causing CO levels to get too high, fun game now of cycling heat on and off to keep levels down, whirly bird needs to go up on that vent pipe to deal with these more intense winds we seem to be getting. Furnaces off for a spell, wood stove cranking.
