Foul weather gear recommendations
Time to look into a new top. Pants maybe as well. I used to know exactly what was the best gear, but not anymore. And sizing is more difficult as I seem to be perfectly in between L and XL...

Marine Hardware store in Marshfield MA. Big selection and reasonable pricing.

I’ve been really happy with my 3rd reef gear from west marine. The thing I have found is that all foul weather gear wears out at the same rate. It’s not going to last forever…

The place in Brant Rock mentioned above is a great store. Great prices for a brick and mortar store. Nothing is ever cheap but honest prices.

Settled on an orange Grundens Neptune Jacket 319 in XL after wearing it around the store for a bit. Bought local, but still made out as I was out the door for 89.99, which is close to equal what it would have been online with sales after shipping... Good reviews on keeping dry. Cuffs were good enough and not annoying; cut a little longer in back. Have to figure out rolling up the hood... One stop shopping on a rainy day. (Pics of jacket from website... material is smooth, not waffled as appears in pic)

While i have not worn it on the boat yet, I have had ample opportunities to wear this jacket outside in pouring rain. Initial reaction is that it is the best I have had in many years, if not ever. The rubber is soft and supple. Not exactly what I have been used to. Worth a look if you need a new raincoat/foul weather gear.
