I knew Frank well. Fished with him on the Cape and hung with him at Murats back in the day.

My first legend to surf fishing as an adult. Frank wrote great surfcasting books for novice and seasoned Surfcasters. Always had entertaining seminars at the club.

Godspeed, Frank.
Frank let us into his living room and into his buggy so many times over the years with his writing. He launched legions of surfcasters and caught the essence of the night like so few others.

About 20 years ago i left my studio around 4 to catch the tide at the narrow river mouth around 4 pm. I suited up in the parking lot and made the long walk down the beach in my waders and right before the mouth sitting up in the dry sand was frank and his wife. Or at least i am 80% possitive it was them. They both gave me a big smile as i walked by and i felt like they were giving me more attention than anyone who didnt fish would. It wasnt until i started fishing that it occurred to me that it was frank. I caught a load of nice fish that session and i often wondered if they knew it was time to be there and were happy someone else knew too. Was it really them? Who knows… but Id like to think it was.
