I am sad to announce that we have lost a great friend, certainly well before his time. John "Habs" Haberek passed on Sunday, September 23, 2007. He will be greatly missed. Husband, father, friend, and a significant influence on the Striper world. Our Sincere condolences goes out to his family.  I personally have had the pleasure of knowing John for ten years. John, you have my respect and admiration. May your seas always be plentiful, your rod always bent, your drag always screaming, and your line always taught. John Haberek, Founder and Owner of Hab's Custom Plugs, had been a builder of Custom Wooden Fishing Lures for well over a decade. His plugs were of high quality, great fishability, and highly desired. Most known for his continued development, high quality, and varied styles of Needlefish, Habs became the leader of wooden lures in the northeast and helped to redefine our sport.
