I do occasionally use 320 but the stuff is a beast to work with so I only use it for plugs with propellers that need the stiffer wire. ...

I'm assuming most everyone is using .062 (1/16) diameter but what hardness/stiffness is the most popular - 316, 320 .............. ?
Also, what's the difference between "L" and "LR" ?

You don't need to. Createx and Envirotex work perfectly together. Unless you need to knock down any bumps or bubbles, you shouldn't need to sand either.
