Ouch, when you told me you got laid off I was thinking it was the seasonal thing that comes around every year. Guess you wont be going back there next year!

Thumbs up

Ya know, Nebe is absolutely correct. Change is good. You're outa that poisonous atmosphere, you'll have a little time to clear your mind and draw up a new and better game plan, and you'll learn more and/or different things at your next stop. Don't let bitterness get in the way of progress. That grommet did you a favor. New Wife, New Life. Congrats and good luck.

Sucked at 1st , but now 3 months later, everything is looking 1000x better. Managed to pay off my debt since then, and now have 2 interviews lined up with two of the best hospitality corporations in the state. Chow Fun Food Group and Newport Harbor Corporation, with one position only being a 3 minute commute!!

Joes right. However, creating your own job security can also destroy all sense of job security.. There are days when I loathe being self employed. Working for someoene else who is taking all the risks and recieving a paycheck every week is pretty nice.

For a first venture, when you don't have a lot capital, I'm more an advocate of practical, low-glamour business' - like the one's undertaken by recent immigrants.

I always thought a baked potato truck would be profitable. They're healthy and don't cost much.
