Long gone are the days of pulling in horse mackerel from shore in RI, never mind tinkers...I remember the piers at the fort lined up with people filling their buckets (bamboo and extension poles, no reel needed), the mackerel were almost as tall as the bucket, no BS...we used to use scallops at the GI-bridge too, some days they wouldn't touch anything else, not squid, or even freshly caught silversides.
I remember following schools of what at the time I thought were tommy cod along the shores of CH, blitzing bait on to the rocks, I was too young to identify them?? Maybe RIRH remembers?
One of my last conversations with Crafty, he thought they were pollock? Too long ago to remember....no phones back then, no pictures, only memories now

sorry,

...it finally happened, there are no more secret spots
