I am with you. It might be a lot easier to afford than you think soon enough. I have been watching a few boats that are each down about 30% from what they were originally offered. You add in fuel prices at these levels through the fall and the fact these guys may be carrying pretty big notes on these boats.... there could be a fire sale this winter.
Although I love the surf and do well... I sure could use a nice 21ft center console.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. ~John Buchan

I don't think this happened in CT. . It was Massachusetts because their rod and reel started last weekend.

I have never found myself wanting a boat more than this season as the surf fishing on the N. Shore has been horrible. I hear it every day from many shore guys that they are not catching large fish with any consistency if at all. Yet, just a few hundred yards offshore the mackerel are still thick up here and some bigger fish including a 54# yesterday are being pulled up. The absence of bluefish this late into the season is amazing which is why the macs are still prevelant.

Sh!t, you wanna cry, go to Noman's and watch the boats anchored up off the north shore and 4 dingbats to a boat some with two or three taped on guides on piece of sh!t rods dropping chunks in 20 feet of water and bailing on them in the commercial season. Five boats, twenty guys everyone on at the same time and all in the box.
day after day and some corkers coming to the gaff. I dunno how good they are but they ain't brain surgeons thats for sure.

Why even try.........

All to funny...If guys even knew a quarter off the truth as to what goes on. The initial report is only about 25% TRUE.
As far as the guys bailing em, not even close, if they were then the price would not have been $3. bucks plus a pound this week.

What initial report are you reffering to?
Atleast one place here in Mass was 4 bucks a pound
what's wrong with 3 bucks a pound? 60 bucks for a 20 pounder seems pretty decent to me.
I guess guys don't know what goes on because other guys don't want guys to know what goes on
therefore we can just speculate how easy it is on the internet

Gas prices are expensive but those 4 stroke engines are SUPER fuel efficient. While you dont get to go out 100miles with it you do get to go to most locations to bag some big bass.
It is too bad that I get sea sick on the swan boats in Boston nevermind out in the ocean
