A catch like that should put an end to the Boat vs. Surf argument. That's why On theWater gives more points to a shore caught fish! Putting big bass in the boat is easier and much more consistant than the surf will ever be. By the way, this is not an isolated incident. It happens all the time. I spoke to someone the other day who had a very good day, fish to 48. That's why, If you have a good night in the surf, cherish it!

Most commercial guys are the best but a score like that is very, very rare from shore and I think any commm. guy would agree. Surf catches like that are a thing of the past.

By the way, I support comm bass fisherman and did alotof it myself in the 70 and 80's. Those guys know what they are doing. This thread is not about bashing boat comm bass anglers but about boat vs. surf and frustrations about the state of the bass fishery from shore. Believe it or not, we had scores from the surf like this back in the 80's on the Block. And the cape guys had these same big fish in 77 and 78. Consistent big bass fishing on the beach is just not there anymore, but in a boat, you have a much better shot at large fish. It's that simple!

no commerical selling of striped bass in ct,for that matter fish caught in ct can't be sold out of state.commercial fishermen in ct using gill nets for bait must throw all dead stripers back.
