You appear to be mixing issues.

There are still inmates at GITMO that have been cleared of all terrorism charges, but their home country won't take them, or in the case of China would probably prosecute them. They have discussed releasing some of these prisoners into the US as an option.

I've not seen anyone talking of simply releasing dangerous inmates into the US because of a technicality, nor do I belive for a second this would happen.

The irony is that had Bush actually had any conservative principals we probably wouldn't have this mess in the first place. Either shoot them on the battlefield or follow the rule of International law that we've previously agreed to. The longer we keep GITMO open the longer that eyesore is used to generate sympathy for our real enemies.

Agreed. I think we should do it with the illegal Mexican Boarder hoppers as well.

Quick side story...
I was at #^&#^&#^&#^&'s picking up some gear and I started chatting with a guy buying a wire trap. I asked him if he had a raccoon problem, "No, squirrels" he says. This guy then goes on to tell me about how he spray paints the tails that neon orange color and then takes them off deep into the woods. If they show up again and he sees the orange, he shoots them.

Now, the illegality of transporting a wild animal aside, I think this is a fantastic idea. Tattoo the bastards and if seen again, *bang* they're done. None of this taking enemy combatants prisoner a second time. Illegal boarder hoppers may start thinking twice - and they're illegals, thus technically have no right to due process under our constitution.

But I've always been a fan of restricted zones at the Boarder where anything that moves is given one change to turn around and head back the way they came, then is shot on site.

the problem with that IDEA is that hostile insurgents or terrorists cannot be compared side by side to illegal aliens that come to America to pick oranges, apples, strawberries, or any other crop.

the enormous agricultural areas of the west dictate the necessity of hiring cheap labor because the legal immigrants will not do the work. Those guys can earn more in a single afternoon illegally then they could make in an entire month legally ->so why would they?

restricted zones don't work either because you can just tunnel under them. PEOPLE can easily manufacture false identification
to cross the border legally and then work here illegally.
