Bluefish Clarification

My original post should have stated that the bluefish have been late the past two years, compared to the preceding years.

The last six weeks of last season, beginning at the end of August, had poagies schooling everywhere, very easy pickings.

Large blues were easy to be had, my favorite retrieve was a poagie which had a large circular bite out of its midsection, shocked dead, with bulging eyes.

The two stripers pictured were caught behind a poagie school between Spectacle and LI last year, upcurrent was all large blues.

Stop by if you see me by Rainsford or in Quincy Bay, I've got an 18' blue skiff with white bumpers and a trap hauler, and normally a cooler of red shelled bartering tools for live poagies.
