Why all the doubters???? It is supposedly Greg M, who holds the certified record, though I don't personally know him, nor could I identify him from a picture. From reports I have read or heard over the past year, he is hardcore, serious bass fisherman. He played collegiate football, so is large in stature. If he were a contributing member here, we would all be congratulating him.... That is a serious catch! I for one, enjoy seeing such a picture, as catching bass is what I enjoy and is why I come here.....

1 - In today's day and age you can take a MUCH better photo than that with almost any camera. If guys keep releasing these grainy, washed out pictures of a bass, people are going to keep speculating

2 - The whole fish isn't in frame and its being held at a VERY peculiar angle.

If I ever catch a fish that big the picture will be very good quality, the fish will be held against my body for an unquestioned source of scale, and the entire fish will be in frame.

I wish people would just try to make their fish NOT look sketchy.

For the record, I didn't doubt the picture was real, just wasn't a WR (>80lb) fish.

The artist formerly known as Scratch59.

I agree, not a record. He reported it to be 73 1/4# (second hand report he must have put on FB. I don't do FB) Most of collaborative info came off the other board, which includes him saying it fought harder than any other bass he had hooked, including the record fish.

As for photos.... especially at night... I am a fisherman, not a photographer. Hence you will not see more than two posted pics of me holding fish.... I have a dumb phone and don't carry a camera. It's not what I do it for.
