THE LAW requires that the stock be managed using the best available science and attempt to reach optimum yield (MSY) If you don't like it, work to get the law changed, until then the managers will do what they are directed to do. Gamefish status is an individual state matter, as the law stands now the ASMFC would be violating the law if they attempted to make stripers a game fish.
