well the Earth is a Ball Magnet...
with obvious lines of FORCE...

there was a story i read about a sheep herder who decided to take a lofty position to observe his flock
and went to lean against a standing stone that had allot of Quartz in it.... (quartz conducts electricity)
and he got a wicked charge up his back from doing so
turns out there was two underground rivers that converged right beneath that standing stone.
