Halibut guys use them regularly. I made some spinners using canal jigs after watching a guy on a show make them for halibut. He was using ~8-10 oz bucktails, stainless wire, and some huge (maybe 6") blades. I am not sure how much better mine worked with the blade than without, but they caught fish.

A long long time ago , a deadly trolling rig was an inline spinner bait with big old green clam worms. This was before the coming of the tube and worm.

I"ve been making striper size spinner baits, soon I"ll be making in-lines on .063 gauge wire 10" long,and 2-4.oz I"ve seen them on line for as much as $25-$28 apiece, if I happen to bump into one of you guys or gals out there I"ll gladly give you one free!
