I always liked fishing for them.

Amazing to eat. I fried some, baked some, made chowder with some (used the carcasses to make great stock), and my favorite - blackened fish sandwiches in a cast iron frying pan.

We were out there yesterday morning...gorgeous day

First Sea-Bass was the biggest....I ask my buddy to grab the net (the fight/action made me believe it could have been a sizable fluke,)....No Fluke, ...Super-sized seabass...yaye! My buddy nets em'...the sea-bass comes loose in the net, leaving the hook stuck in the net. I take the net from my buddy so he can get back to fishing...I'm dikking around gettin' the hook free.....the seabass does a couple of tail-kicks, manages to hop out of net...bounces off seat, then handle, then splash.....involuntary C&R.

Great fight on light tackle. I highly recommend this fishery to those who haven't tried it yet. Super fun, great for the kids...just be leery of the sharp plates above his gills if letting your kids touch em'...they're pretty sharp

...it finally happened, there are no more secret spots

The only down side, and I mean the ONLY down side is that he may presume that every trip will be like that....or he may become committed to improving on those catches (OK, that's not really that bad...)

All in all I'd say he earned a place at the rail for his next trip!

You've gotta love when a kid takes to fishing like that...it bodes well for the future of the industry as a whole!

It does make you crazy when you can get out-fished by a 10 year old...

I am a legend in my own mind!

He has been on trips where we get skunked. He gets pouty on those trips (heck, so do I) but he truly loves fishing regardless. Hard to describe how it makes me feel to hear him tell his friends how much he loves it, and impossible for me not to look forward to countless trips together.
