I think the key to any knot is how carefully it is tied. Any knot where the twists are drawn down and one jumps and crosses the other is doomed to failure. I saw a video from the owner of a fly shop in Key West who makes a point of teasing, say, a lock on an Albright or Bimini as he's drawing it down to make sure this doesn't happen.
In the end there are the absolute best knots such as the PR or FG for use when casting from a boat or setting up rods in a controlled environment, but then there are the best knots from a practical standpoint such as a Uni to Uni when it's raining and blowing and you're standing on a rock or getting hammered by waves on a sand beach.
