Oh that s*cks I was anchored off the Saconet light this morning weeding through small tog for one keeper and after the grabs were gone I looked for anything, found sea bass feeding on top outside the harbor managed two keepers, but otherwise I saw no feeds. I was tempted to go outside for a look but decided against it as it was already one of those sh*t days. Sat for 30 minutes on 195 as they cleared an accident, launch and the depth finders dead, get home and the bungee on the tackle tray on side of yak was less the cover and anything light (gripper) was lost.

I had three straight days of beautiful weather.... enjoying a long weekend stay at a summer home right on the water. Brought the kayak and fished from it several times a day......found myself right in the middle of feeding fish almost every where i went....caught a lot of small stripers and sea bass....at one point I saw a bonito jump clear of the water right next to me....paddled in the direction I saw them surfacing and made casts into them several times but didnt hook up. Put on an epoxy jig....but from the kayak I had trouble making any casts long enough....forgot how difficult it was casting from the sitting position in a kayak.....frustrated I switched to a metal jig that went much further and finally hooked up....but to my surprise it was not bonito or albie...but a spanish mackeral. Came back to shore exausted and sunburned...but when I tried to relax on the deck....would see more schools of breaking fish and was compelled to launch and chase. Wife and kids were amazed at my energy and stamina......after all.... I am a senior citizen now.

Thanks......the place is amazing.......if I owned it I would rig a trolley and winch to launch my 17' boat right there.........well ....in my dreams anyway.

The Spanish Mackeral was easy to fillet and made a delicious meal.
