Jigging more bass than most

I've been jigging (the canal) for a few years now but I would like any insight or tips that can make those long nights more productive, don't get me wrong, I usually pull at least 15-20 keepers a week out of (the canal) but any info can be helpful

If you can catch that many you don't need any help.

Would that be an additional 50 to the 50 that are usually there? 15-20 keepers a week in that one spot?? WOWSA!

Canaljigger---when I first started posting I 'cooked a spot' too. Shake it off, but don't do it again. After you've navigated the site a little you'll figure out who fishes in the places that you like to fish; then simply send a PM.

I like to see who would win the tug of war if JPowers snagged one of those 50 lb wire lines with his 65 lb braid and a locked drag. I know I would help him keep from getting pulled in, and maybe the 2 of us could change the course of the boat enough that they would fish elsewhere.

Canaljigger, welcome to the site and what kind of equipment do you jig with? Line? rod? reel? what weight do you toss? Do you fish at night?

Man, I gotta get working on that Craftco Internet Spot Blocker software...

canaljigger,

No worries. If you're @ (?) that often, most of us probably recognize you by sight . It'd be difficult to burn (?) at this late date anyway. The place is highly visible ( campers) - pull a schoolie and guys materialize outta nowhere. Goes with the territory. It's a shame the place is so damn crowded because I think it is one of the best places on Cape to see the sun come up.

Yah Pips is always very crowded. I rarely fish there but go there to talk with the guys after I'm done for the morning. Mentioning specific spots on the web is not a good idea. There are tons of lurkers out there that will never post. Many of us will e-mail each other on spots and techniches but don't post it for all to see. A newcomer coming on to strong is a turnoff.

don't worry about it blackeye, the place only gives up schoolies and occasional keepers. It's a coffee shop and a place to use binoculars and trip over thousands of yards of line caught in the rocks, and it doesn't really matter where it is or isn't at.

It's a place where your fishing buddies rescue the rod you left behind because you caught a 30#er and left in a hurry.
