I took a foam for-grip, cut 1" or so off the end and epoxy it over the tube, nice finished look. I taped off the butt with cork for the fater feel and anti-slim, I also cut about a 1/4" off the butt cap itself, that gave the butt a nice transaction from butt cape to tape (doubt most would notice) a little fine sanding will make your thread lay over nice. Sorry I didn't respond sooner.
