Yeah,it's nothing to fool with.My high school footbal coach died from it about 10 years ago when he cut himself while cleaning a bluefish.I always have cuts on my hands and carried some peroxide in the truck and slapped some on my hands after fishing for awhile, even though i C and R . but got lax and don't do it anymore.
Don't know if it would really prevent it,and it's no substitute for being aware and careful.
