Glad you are ok!!!

Have any of you ever thought about cutting the strap on your plug bags or what ever you carry and sew Velcro on it?? This way you could just rip it off in a situation like this.

The thing is bart, i wasnt taking any chances and thats why i chose to go there- its the safest place to fish in a heave....

I better get a wetsuit i guess

Geeze Eben, If you were under for 5-6 waves and they had a 10 second interval, then you were under for way too long. It's one thing to hold your breath for time on purpose, way another to get surprised like that. Good thing you're a Glass Blower. Your occupation may have saved your life.

na.. they were only about 3 feet. i was up to my waist and the crest hit me in the chest... had the wave been a roller and not a cresting wave i woudl have simply jumped up and rode it out.
