I personally swore by VMC hooks for the longest time... but this year unless i got a bad bunch.. i've had nothing but headaches with them... trebles in 3/0 and 4/0 in particular... last year i had a 5/0 siwash hook break as i was bringing a fishing thru a wave the force of the undertow and weight of the fish pulled hard enough to snap the eye of the siwash... never had that happen either.. know it broke cause my buddy caught the piece of hook eye in his rip stop jacket that wasn't really rip stop.. hehe a bad crimp me thinks it wasn't that big a fish maybe high 20's...

but back to the trebles they aren't holding their edge like they used too and i've already replaced a few for looking like them excalibar hooks... hehe

I might just go back to mustads put a better point on and replace them every other outing....
