1/4 of a million miles with no fluid change... what.. ya want it ta last forever? Sucks Dave, but, ya got 3 choices, 1.) have it rebuilt (about 12 hundred for an AOD) 2.) junkyard tranny, live dangerous, take chances, or 3.) bite the bullit, get a new one, some great deals to be had on '05 trucks Dave, and you need a monthly payment ta keep ya focused at work !

Good Luck with whatever ya do, you need a ride under your butt, pronto, tho.

Gee I have an idea ??

Sell some plugs YOU ONLY HAVE 20K OF THEM. If you sell them for $2.00 dollars each you will be able to get yer self a new ford!

Sorry to hear it. Have to bite the bullet and get it fixed. Summer is to short. Know how you feel went to get sticker on my truck and ball joints are junk. Reject sticker. F-150 4x4 has a light duty front end and you can't replace the top ball joints need to replace the whole arm with the ball joint on it and need new bolts because they are frozen and need to be cut off. Have no idea what this will cost. I hate vehicles but need truck to tow boat. Bad timing I am on vacation too and comm. starts week after next. Looks like I will be fishing to pay for ball joints and labor. Paul

I know what ya mean. I took the wifes blazer in for a sticker to find out it needs ball joints. They said may as well replace them all when it is apart. Worst part is that they can't do it until next week. Good thing she doesn't travel far from home.

Dave -

I see a canary yellow VW bug in your future. Used of course. Nut.......
