It's the SEAL conspiracy..... They seem to know to stay in close to shore as a fisherman may help them with lunch. If they are out to far they may become lunch. Not that that would be a bad thing.

Went to Rp this AM with my brother, Jim and received nary a tap. The Jig-it guys in the boats were hammering and I mean HAMMERING the bass. We got to watch. At dead low I could nearly cast to the boats, but nuttin'. Spoke to LIfishinVT, he said at dawn you have a 15 minute window, if you miss it( Ya we did) then you miss it. He didn't. He had a nice fish for his diligence. Tomorrow.... oke:

Did I mention the pods of sand eels that were swimming by us in the wash???? Yet no fish following or feeding?

BigFish Larry Jointed Swimmer plugs catch fish!!!!!!!!!!! Got out of work at 6:00 A.M., hitched the boat and hit an undisclosed spot here on the MA South Shore (no not that spot Larry). Upon arrival at the first spot, I threw a chunk, the tied on a BigFish jointed swimmer and immediately laid into a 37" Bass. We took several more from dinks up to that 37" (nothing larger) until the bite shut down about an hour and a half later. We managed a few more small fish at a few other spots until calling it a day around 1:00.
I hope to have a pic of the fish with your plug hanging out of it's mouth for you Larry. Not my digi cam though. He say's he'll send it to me though. Thanks for that sweet piece of jointed wood Larry.
The only other plug I was hitting with was PNG's (Chris) pearl yellow Danny. Man that thing has a sexy swagger to it when it swims. Props to PNG on that plug as well.
Overall, it's been a bit dismal for me this year between work and family time and trying to juggle fishing time. Nothing but schoolies from shore this year.

If you can't be there, your plugs make a great proxy!

Well I'll tell you Larry, if you get a copy of Frank Woolner's "Modern Saltwater Sportfishing", you will see a section of a chapter on tin boats in the surf and how 14 footers are perfect for this. Well since I have a boat ( 14 feet) in my possesion and it's ready to go, I will renew an old tradition this coming weekend when me and LaPorte push off from Hatches after trailering her out on the sand track and see how long those bass can withstand a juicy fresh sand eel three wayed along the bottom.
If I must go offshore I will. Arnold Laine, Woolner, Whitney and Ralph Gray did it all the time. If they did it so can I. Better than sitting on shore moaning and whining!
Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Why even try.........
