Big blues will attack a struggling schoolie. Had it happen to me more than once. They'll also attack one that's released if it's worn down by the fight.
It's one of the reasons I don't really downsize my tackle for schoolies, and play them aggressively

some years back I was down at the light house on the inside of the harbor, knee deep on the incoming..should had a 30lb set up  I inched my way outta there.

Not sure where you were but I have seen seals in Barnstable Harbor this summer at night a few times. Scared the hell out of me late one night in my tin boat, surfaced right next to boat and let out a breath and I almost jumped out of the boat.

I'm pretty sure it wasen't a seal, I think I would have seen it. I'll tell my self that it was just a big blue........fish.

If you were where I think you were I'd bet it was a shark. I've heard tales of guys wading out and seeing fins go by between them and land.
