Anyone have some history on the surfster?

All I know is that the Creek Chub catalog first listed it in 1953 .
The 7400 Salt Surfster was the largest they made and was last produced in 1959 .
It was listed as 7.25 inches long and weight was 2.5 oz .
It was available in 8 colors (00,01,02,07,18,34,35,37) .

It started when the early striper fisherman started to beef up the regular ccbco pikies with lead and larger hooks, but they wouldnt hold up in the surf and would be destroyed and they werent satisfied so these guys made lure companies all along the east coast gibbs, atom, jude, Bills, Russo, masterlure and select others. They had great succes s which started to scare the big companies like heddon, and ccbco. So to compete with the fisherman ccbco hit the market in 1953 with an entire line of salty plugs that were made for the striper guys, spin darter, surf darter, striper pikie, 3 sizes of the surfster which is the best one of them i think and the large surf popper. Hope that helps.
