The thought crossed my mind... The bigger fish were on the jig.
1/4 ounce head. Probably should have been using 1/8 or even 1/32 for a better drift.

Did you use any kind of split shot to keep the fly a little down in the water column? If so, how far away from the fly do you put the weight? I'm liking this trout fishing for stripers method, i may give it a shot!

No, But I probably should have. The tiny jig with the spin gear was getting more hits, even though I had it set wrong. I'll usually put a tiny split shot on between the droppers.
