One spot that I love to fish is great on the half-tide down. I great rip forms up next to a hole. However the surfers love the same thing. More than once I've been there rod in hand (sometimes with a bait stick in the surf too), and they'll surf right where I'm casting and think nothing of it. My fishing doesn't disrupt their surfing, but regrettably it doesn't work the other way around.

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

Unfortunately it's a no win situation. We both have the same right to use the water. What I don't get is what is so appealing about surfing in the northeast. Bra, find something better to do with your time. The waves are so small.

Haha, that's how I always feel. I watch the surfers all the time attempting to ride 2 foot waves at 1st and 2nd beach. It amuses me, as long as I don't want to fish there...

What RIRockhound said. Why are you fishing in the daylight? Stripers are nocturnal creatures....like all good Striper fishermen...

Except in the spring when fishing can be OK on a cloudy & rainy day but the surfers prevent you from fishing with the wind when there is a 25 knot NE blow in your face with a big surf, like last Sunday evening for me.
