If you really need to cast over someone a sleep - nerve gas bomb is best. That way the fisher doesn`t even know what happened so there is no hard feelings.

One more question---if I'm using a Squidder and Harnell, instead of being a monkey with a hi-tech outfit, can I go ahead and cast, or do I still have to wait for the guy up top to unload first

Let the guy up top take the first cast (like he is going to ask anyway) and while he is retrieving.....roll his bike into the canal!
