I was fortunate to have two early morning visits to the ditch Sun and Mon. - both days same spot with the same guy to my left and two different guys to my right each day. We all knew what we were doing and were considerate of each other. We all caught fish and left happy.
I did notice the some bikers come buy during brief topwater activity, but none pulled the trigger over us.
As far as these Greek guys, I'm sure that there be more people keeping an eye on them, thanks to the publicity.
If I was approached by a handful of angry fishermen, knowing the money they have shelled out to fish the Canal right and just looking to have a ?? relaxing ?? day out fishing, that would most likely change my attitude.

Spence....you surf where I was fishing first....you take your life in your hands. As for boat fishermen.....you drift into my casting range and its hull bouncing time!  I would never intentionally injure someone....simply making a point that you are in my zone......and deserve a little respect!  |

Cutting lines or intentional entanglement is probably the best tact(s) to take, and no worries about getting sued. I'm sure that gets the point across.

Doesn't have to be intentional...even the best of us don't cast perfectly all the time  
I'm just trying to ensure any impressionable young minds don't think it's ok if BF does it
