I do some of both. Depends what I'm playing with for clear. This winter was all flipping...

tired of spinning and getting dust and junk in the finish. now I go to a body shop and have them sprayed. trying out a new auto clear that has a ceramic additive. supposedly it is self healing when it gets scratched. we'll see.
