i was on 146 heading to North Smithfield. I could see the lightning and dark clouds and I was heading right into them temp was 96. The heavy wind hit , knocked down some branches , then some whole trees fell down! One lane on 146 south was blocked. It poured for a minute then stopped. Over the span of that 1 minute , the temp dropped 23 degrees to 73.

I just got back home and not a drop has fallen here and the temp is about 84. There is still lightning everywhere so hopefully it will rain and get us into the 70"s.

i was lucky enough to see the bolt that split a hemlock down the middle bout 20 feet from my house. Really cool stuff. It was weird though, it wasnt nearly as loud as the rest of the boomers. Mother nature cut a few nice 2x4's for me. Also screwed up my pump, lost the prime.

Everything is better on the rocks.

That bolt that gave you the 2x4's may have also taken your pump. I've had mine hit a few times in the past from lightning strikes close to it and the bolt will travel underground to the well casing and down- bye bye pump. Ron

So I'm 20 min away from home watching my step-sons ball game, and listening to the marine weather on the radio.

It's starting to lightening, I'm freaking out...because every window in the house is open...and my wife doesn't seem to give a whip.

I can't believe how long it took them to call the game.

Got home...SOAKED
