That's interesting because the other night I got the impression there were two different groups of fish swimming around. The ones that were keyed in on the tiny bait and another group who were looking for bigger stuff. Pure conjecture on my part but your autopsy lends some support. Or, maybe the fish that hit the plugs had just moved in to the area?

Try fishing a floating or very slow sink needle with a white teaser out in front of it ..Teaser can be small white rubber on 5/0 siswash hook(crazy glue gel).. or just white bucktail tied on up to 7/0 hook .. I use to buy the single hooks in a package that way or you can tie it yourself with very limited skills. You'll get fish on both the needle and the teaser,, hopefully some larger on the needle... this combo cast great too .

bass on peanuts

Kastmasters are always good for fishing around peanuts, as are larger poppers ... at times something completely different can get the attention of fish focused on one particular bait and I have done very well with poppers when nothing else seems to work while the bass are pushing peanuts up against the banks ... for fly guys, try Clousers, not a peanut but will get below the bait and can be productive, or use a 50/50 as well.
