U can do the same thing by rappn a big not of thread on the hook with Size E rodbuilding thread an glue it.
i heard some like to use a large swivel conected to the eyelet an tuck it in the eels mouth an tie over that but never tried it.

I solder a piece of copper wire about 1/8 in down from the eye of the hook. Tie the eel off in front of the copper wire and wrap some thread or floss over your tie off.

No boat, back in the suds.

A small black zip tie around the eel just at the bend will work too. Easy enough to do in the surf when needed.
